A 52 -year-old-man, Rasaq Babalola, has been arrested for allegedly conspiring with his wife and paying assassins to eliminate his neighbour, Emeka Anozie, over Covid-19 relief packages.

According to PmExpress, the incident happened at their residence located at Agbo Komolafe Street, Unity Estate, Idimu area of Egbeda, Lagos.

Trouble allegedly began when Emeka paid a chef to cook for residents of the neighborhood to the dismay of Rasaq and his wife, identified as Mama Raheem.

The couple was said to be unhappy with his benevolence and attempted to stop him but he ignored them and went ahead to share the food.

The victim alleged that Rasaq’s kids later started disturbing him by throwing stones at his window and he went to report them to their mother, but she flared up and threatened to deal with him.

The following day, some armed men invaded his apartment, beat him up, collected his phones, then dragged him outside in an attempt to take him away in their waiting car.

Fortunately for him, people in the neighborhood frustrated them so they left him and escaped. Anozie subsequently reported the matter to the police and Rasaq was picked up while his wife fled. He has since confessed to the crime.
